Pandora of Greek myth was the first woman on earth. She was given the gifts of beauty and charm as well much curiosity. Zeus wanted to punish mankind for accepting the gift of fire that Prometheus had stolen from heaven. In retaliation for the theft, Zeus gave Pandora a box that he warned her not to open. Her curiosity got the better of her and she opened the box, unleashing all the evils and diseases into the world. The only thing that was left in the box, when she managed to slam the lid shut, was Hope.
